Large format prints have been successfully tested with the help of Dr. Brian Gilkes at the Pharos Centre, St. Andrews, Australia.
Prints up to 100cm wide at the highest gallery standard are now possible, without any loss of detail, in small editions.
The results are due to the very high resolution of the original artwork, the equivalent to working on a canvas 150cm wide (or five feet) through a zoom in, zoom out process that mimics standard studio practice with a painting or large drawing.
The prints are still technically Limited Edition because they are run off the original “plate” that was painted on-screen using a pressure sensitive brush. They are not scanned reproductions.
At this time, not all in the stock room will print at 100cm width. Those shown in the mock-up above are fairly accurate.
